Mount Vernon Trails Service Unit
The Mount Vernon Trails Service Unit in part of the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. We are a group of volunteers who provide programs, events and support to girls and volunteers in our community. We serve girls in the Mount Vernon School Corporation, in Hancock County, as well as home schooled girls in our community.
Purpose of Service Unit
The service unit is a dynamic support system that though diverse methods and the support of local community, provides the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls and adults and has the responsibility to extend membership, provide direct support to girls and adults, educate the community about the benefits of Girl Scouting and act as a communication center for Girl Scouts.

- Administration: Provides structure and keeps things running smoothly, deals with paperwork(registration, etc.), places volunteers in various positions, oversee troop activities.
- Recruitment: Recruit girls and adults throughout entire service unit.
- Volunteer Support: Promotes and offers adult training, opportunities, mentorship and coaching, recognition, and provide informational resources.
- Program: Promote activities girls do at troop, service unit and council levels, and organize service unit events.
- Community Development: Promotes Girl Scouts positively throughout the community.
- Product Sales Support: Covers adult training for product sales.
